Shelby Rock is a children's book illustrator with a love of folklore, nature, and the little bits of magic hiding in the mundane. Her work has been described as “fantastical yet familiar,” blending whimsical worlds with relatable characters. 

Shelby was late-diagnosed as autistic, and has always found a sense of belonging and understanding through picture books. That experience continues to shape her work and her passion for stories that celebrate individuality, embrace differences, and remind children who feel a little out of step with the world that there's a place for them in it.

Her illustrations have been published by Scholastic, Oxford University Press, and independent authors. 

She is currently seeking literary representation for picture books and middle grade projects.
